Facebook’s parent company, Meta has announced the roll out of Facebook short-form video product ‘Facebook Reels’ worldwide. With the roll out, the company says it Facebook Reels will now be available for all users across 150 countries across the globe.

The worldwide roll out follows the initial test for users in the US. Facebook reels will now be available on iOS and Android to publishers. It says the new Facebook Reels features include Remix, sharing to Facebook Stories and more.

Facebook parent company it appears is giving China based Tiktok a run for its money following the success and continued growth of its short video provision.

Reels are short-form videos that publishers can record on mobile devices, then pepper with music, audio, effects and more with the touch of a few buttons. Its introduction on Facebook also follows its popularity on its sister brand, Instagram.

Part of the company’s statement reads:

Reels should become increasingly valuable to your social strategy moving forward. Watching video represents half of the time that people spend on Facebook and Instagram, and Reels is our fastest growing content format. We’re focused on making Reels the best way for creators to get discovered, connect with their audience and earn money. We also want to make it fun and easy for people to find and share relevant and entertaining content.

Publishers Now Have More Ways To Earn Money From Facebook Reels

The company also says it is creating a variety of opportunities for creators to earn money for their reels. It says its Reels Play bonus program which is part of the company’s $1 billion creator investment, will pay eligible creators up to $35,000 a month based on the views of their qualifying reels.

The company says it will be expanding the bonus program to more countries in the coming months.
