ASUU Continues to Be In The News As Nigerians React To Latest Statement On Resumption

Earlier on Sunday, branches of the Academic Staff Union of Universities had after accessing the COVID-19 protocols in Universities had concluded that the tertiary learning institutions were not ready for a safe opening as it relates to the present health situation.

In separate interviews with the Punch Newspaper, chapters of the union commented on the directive given by the National Universities Commission that universities could resume on January 18 but they must adhere to COVID-19 protocols in hostels and lecture halls.

In stern reactions however, Nigerians have aired varied opinions on this statement, a cross section of which are reproduced below:
