As more Nigerians continue to seek greener pastures outside the shores of the country, a major route many are opting for is the education route. This apparently is a safer way to secure visas, although it also comes at a huge cost, which many do not mind paying.

Here are some Universities and Colleges in the United States that do not require application fees to process your papers.

1) YALE UNIVERSITY

A private ivy league research university in New Haven, Connecticut. Founded in 1701 as the collegiate school, and the third oldest institution of higher education in the United States of America , and among the most prestigious in the world.Collegiate School was established in 1701 by clergy to educate Congregationalist ministers, before moving to New Haven in 1716. 

In the 19th century, the college expanded into graduate and professional instruction, awarding the first PhD in the United States in 1861 and organizing as a university in 1887. 

The University’s  faculty and student populations grew after 1890 with rapid expansion of the physical campus and scientific research. It has fourteen constituent schools which are ; the undergraduate college, the Yale Graduate School of Art and Social  Sciences, and 12 other professional schools. Some interesting courses to study include: Chemical engineering, chemistry, Electrical Engineering , Architecture, English , and lots more .

2) WELLESLEY COLLEGE

Founded in 1870 by Henry and Pauline Durant as a female seminary, it is a member of the original Seven Sisters Colleges, an unofficial grouping of elite current and former women’s colleges in the northeastern United States. Wellesley College is a private women’s liberal arts college in Wellesley, Massachusetts, United States. 

Wellesley College has a total of 56 departmental and interdepartmental majors spanning and liberal arts, as well as over 150 students clubs and organizations. 

The college’s average class size is between 17 and 20 students, with a student-faculty ratio of 8:1. Its campus offers multiple housing options, including Tower Court, which was built after College Hall burnt down, the Quad (Quint, including Munger), the “New Dorms”, which refers to the east-side dormitories which were erected in the 1950s, and multiple “Branch Halls”, including both a Spanish and French-speaking house. 3) CARLETON COLLEGE

Carleton College is a private liberal arts college in Northfield, Minnesota. Founded in 1866, it had 2,105 undergraduate students and 269 faculty members in 2016. The 200-acre main campus is between Northfield and the 800-acre Cowling Arboretum, which became part of the campus in the 1920s. 

Admissions in Carleton College are highly selective with an acceptance rate of 16.5% in 2022, and Carleton is annually ranked near the top in most rankings of liberal arts schools.

4) MILWAUKEE SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING (MSOE)

A private university in Milwaukee,Wisconsin. Founded in 1903 by Oscar Werwath and initially called the School of Engineering. Wermath’s goal for founding MSOE was to meet the needs of the workforce for the growing engineering field. The 22-acre campus is in the East Town neighborhood of downtown Milwaukee. 

The university offers 16 bachelor’s degrees, ten of which are in engineering. It also offers nine master’s degrees.MSOE mainly offers ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degree to undergraduate students, as well as a Bachelor of Science. It also has 9 post-graduate master’s programs. 

Its list of engineering programs accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) include: architectural engineering, biomolecular engineering, biomedical engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering ,mechanical engineering technology, and software.

5) SMITH COLLEGE

Smith College is a private liberal arts women’s college located in Northampton, Massachusetts. It was chartered in 1871 by Sophia Smith and opened in 1875. It is the largest member of the historic Seven Sisters colleges, a group of elite women’s colleges in the Northeastern United States.

Smith College has 41 academic departments and programs.Undergraduate admissions is exclusively restricted to women, although the college announced a trans-inclusive admissions policy in 2015. It offers several graduate degrees, all of which accept applicants regardless of gender, and co-administers programs leading to Ph.D.s alongside other Five College Consortium members.

6) CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY

Case is a private research university in Cleveland, Ohio. Case Western Reserve was established in 1967, when Western Reserve University, founded in 1826 and named for its location in the Connecticut Western Reserve, and Case Institute of Technology, founded in 1880 through the endowment of Leonard Case Jr., formally federated.

The university presently consists of eight schools that offer more than 100 undergraduate programs and about 160 graduate and professional options. The six most popular majors are Biomedical Engineering, Biology/Biological Sciences, Social Work, Nursing, Mechanical Engineering, and Psychology.

7) MOUNT HOLYOKE

Mount Holyoke College is a private institution that was founded in 1837 as the Mount Holyoke Female Seminary by Mary Lyon, a pioneer in education for women. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 2,220 (fall 2021), its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 800 acres. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. 

Mount Holyoke College’s ranking in the 2022-2023 edition of Best Colleges is National Liberal Arts Colleges, 36. In 2014, it became the first member of the Seven Sisters to introduce an admissions policy that was inclusive to transgender students. However, all graduate programs are open to applicants regardless of gender.  

Mount Holyoke undergraduates are required to take at least one class each in the humanities, science or mathematics, social sciences, and foreign language, as well as a physical education requirement.

8) BRYN MAWR COLLEGE

Founded in 1846, Grinnell College is a private liberal arts college in Grinnell, Iowa, United States. It was founded when a group of New England Congregationalists established the Trustees of Iowa College. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 1,748 (fall 2021), its setting is rural, and the campus size is 120 acres.

10) TULANE UNIVERSITY

A  private research university in New Orleans, Louisiana. Founded as the Medical College of Louisiana in 1834 by seven young medical doctors.it turned into a comprehensive public university as the University of Louisiana by the state legislature in 1847.

Tulane is the 9th oldest private university in the Association of American Universities. . It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 7,780 (fall 2021), its setting is urban, and the campus size is 110 acres. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. 

Tulane University’s ranking in the 2022-2023 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities 44. Its tuition and fees are $62,844
