As Nigeria faces insecurity in different parts of the country, a top real estate firm, Gtext Global, has offered a solution to the Federal Government.
While addressing a group of selected media houses on Wednesday, April 28, the Group Managing Director, Gtext Global, Dr. Stephen Akintayo, said that the only solution to the alarming rate of insecurity in Nigeria was for the government to engage the youths by creating jobs and basic amenities.
He said: “Insecurity is one of the challenges we face in Nigeria. You can’t tackle insecurity with just bullets and bombs. I was in Maiduguri a time ago and I saw that they don’t have jobs and good hospitals there. So tell me why they will not join Boko Haram or bandits? If we want to fight security issues, we have to create jobs. It is also high time the private sectors took a lead role because our business will be affected as well.”
According to him, as a company, they are determined to play their part, which explains why they have decided to make their Saturday’s Global Property Brokers Conference http://www.gpbconference.com/ free and open to all.
Akintayo added: “You don’t need money to become a broker; all you need is credibility, network and social media. In Nigeria, we have beautiful places we can tap into more than even Dubai, yet the economy is doing better than us.
“The brokers are the middle men between buyers and sellers, so we need to focus more on them. On Saturday, May 1, international realtors like Grant Cardone, John Maxwell and Ryan Serhant will share their experiences with emerging and young brokers.”
The realtor also urged young people to stop using social media to troll celebrities when they could use it to sell goods and services.
“Instead of using your energy to troll people who don’t care about you on social media, sell something and begin to create wealth for yourself. We have already empowered 5,000 people. The conference http://www.gpbconference.com/ will be streamed live to over 12000 people and we hope they all join what we do. We hope to empower 15, 000 people within five years.
“The event cost N100 million because we have to pay really high to get some of the speakers. We believe that when you want to do something, you have to go with a full force.
On his part, the Global Process Manager, Gtext Global, Edward Abumoye, said the company had been known for excellence in Africa.
He stated: “We set global standards in all our branches across the world, including the United Kingdom, Dubai and America. This conference is the biggest in Africa. We are bringing people who have done billions of dollars in real estate. We believe if we work together as a team, we can do a lot more because Nigeria is a home to intelligent people.”
