As the new year begins, many are wondering what learning will look like in the world in which uncertainty is the “new normal.” The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly added to the challenges faced by already over-extended education systems throughout the world. The impact on the society, industries and businesses is unlike any in recent history. Corporate leaders are not the only ones who need to consider how to adjust to these changes. Educators, school leaders, government officials, and parents must re-think education and re-invent ways to best prepare students to take advantage of the plethora of opportunities and overcome the challenges brought about by the pandemic.
Time and again, research has shown that school leadership is a key factor in student outcomes and well-being. But at a time when the structures and systems of the traditional school model have been completely unraveled, has good leadership become ever more critical?
Prior the COVID-19 pandemic, conversation among education experts had turned toward building a 21st century learning paradigm, a model that marries the acquisition of academic skill with the building of behavioral competencies such as agency, collaboration, problem-solving, creativity and life-long learning. The outcome of this approach – the so called 21st century learner – would be a resilient, agile, and collaborative problem solver capable of taking on the challenges of our ever-changing world.
If COVID-19 has taught us anything, it is that the time to implement such a future-forward approach is now. But if we are serious about accelerating such transformation of our learning systems, isn’t it also necessary to consider the implications for our educators and school leaders?
Education Leaders Conference — is a vital part of learning that empowers educators, school leaders and other key actors in the education industry to develop the necessary skills to lead in the ‘new normal’; build an in-depth understanding of change management; and showcase leadership culture necessary for success in the 21st century.
The Conference will examine the implications of the COVID-19 crisis on the 21st century school leadership paradigm and deliver the alignment needed to establish a vision for students and learning that drives decisions around making schools future-ready, based on careful consideration of where schools have been in the past, where they are now, and where the world is going

EdLCONF-21will be steered by rich assemblage of international speakers who combine relevant academic qualifications with requisite experience. Speakers and participants will engage in discussions aimed at reimagining the mechanisms and approaches to responding to a fast-changing, uncertain world with resilient school systems and future-prepared school leaders. They will also look at, more practically, what type of leadership approaches have and haven’t worked during this 6 months of crisis and consider what leadership characteristics are required of 21st century school leaders and educators.
