Wema Bank Announces Resumption Of Normal Banking Hours

Following the easing of the lockdown directive on Monday by President Muhammadu Buhari thorugh the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, one of Nigeria’s top banks has announced the resumption of normal banking hours.

In a mail sighted by Exclusive Africa, the bank said branches will henceforth be open between 8am and 4pm daily.

The mail reads in part:

As we remain hopeful in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, we are glad that we are gradually returning to normal day-to-day activities. By now, you have heard the directives from the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on the reduction of curfew and relaxed restrictions on movement.

As a business, we remain committed to the responsibility of helping to curb the spread of the virus while we resume business operations. After careful consideration and in line with the new directive, we have decided to resume services in all our branches.

Branch Opening
Branches will be open between 8am-4pm daily. We will continue to observe Health and Safety Guidelines by cleaning and disinfecting all premises before we open our doors. We will also maintain a schedule to wipe down common surfaces the virus may exist on such as our ATMs, revolving doors, sitting areas, doorknobs, writing surfaces and pens, amongst others. Our screens will continue to play infomercials on how to protect yourself against catching the virus and other tips for maintaining good hygiene.
