The Federal Government of Nigeria has on Tuesday announced its intention to increase the spread in the catchment of its social impact project TraderMoni.
The Government on Tuesday announced that it was scaling up the total number from 2.5 million to five million annually.
This was announced by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq during a visit to the Command Centre of the programme which is located at the Bank of Industry building in Abuja.
The social impact programme is being implemented by the Bank of Industry and gives a provisonal loan of between N10,000 and N15,000 to artisans and small scale traders.
The interest-free loan is part of the social intervention programmes under President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.
Farouq described the implementation of the programme as a huge success adding that through it, the government would be able to achieve its objective of reducing the level of poverty in the country.
