● President William Ruto has unveiled Boda Boda Care, an initiative focused on enhancing the welfare of motorcycle taxi operators in Kenya, targeting over 200,000 boda-boda riders.
● In tandem with Boda Care, which is moving the needle towards an electric boda boda sector, a bill that seeks to make electric motorcycles even more accessible to Kenyans was signed into law today.

President William Ruto has today launched the boda boda care program for Kenya’s motorcycle riders that boosts of a free one-year medical cover courtesy of NHIF as well as free first responder training to riders.
The empowerment and capacity-building programme follows the government’s Boda Boda reforms in 2022 and aims to ensure that boda boda riders across the country adhere to the laws and regulations stipulated by NTSA.
Before the President’s attendance at the launch event, in a move that will surely make electric motorcycles and buses more accessible to the public, he signed into law a bill that favours local manufacturing of electric mobility products.
The bill seeks to make electric motorcycles even more accessible to Kenyans a great move for the country’s electric mobility sector.
Kenya’s technology company Roam at the launch of the country’s Boda Boda Care initiative unveiled its first-ever locally produced electric motorcycle, the Roam Air.
According to the company, Roam Air features a sleek design, powerful performance, and zero-emission and this makes it a a game-changer in the motorcycle industry.
