Despite a lot of bad press Nigerians get due to the acts of a few unscrupulous elements who engage in fraud and specialize in using the world wide web to carry out nefarious activities, there are still hundreds of others doing great in their chosen field of endeavor, flying Nigeria’s flag high.
One of such individuals is a Nigerian professor, inventor, engineer, author and entrepreneur, Ndubuisi Ekekwe. He is a world renowned tech guru and renowned US semiconductor industry veteran who has served in the United States National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center.
Some of his major career achievements is being a co-designer of the iPhone and iPad’s XL sensor. This he did while working at Analog Devices Corp where he is credited with co-designing a generation of accelerometer for the iPhone and created the company’s first wafer level chip scale package for inertial sensor. He also invented a special method of controlling the dexterity of medical robots used for invasive surgeries.
Ndubuisi Ekekwe was named in 2020 by Guardian Newspapers as one of 60 Nigerians In 60 Years Making “Nigerian Lives Matter”.
Born 1st July 1975, he showed signs of a greatness while in secondary where he set a record of 8 distinctions and emerged FUTO’s best graduating student in 1998 from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department.
