Top 12 Petroleum Consuming States In Nigeria

Below is a breakdown of consumption of Petroleum Motor Spirit by states for the year 2018 with a total eleven months calculated. This breakdown is the sum total of the entire year’s consumption according to the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS)

As seen below, Lagos tops the list with a total consumption demand of 2.95billion with Kano coming a distant second with 1.56billion. This shows a clear difference of over 1 billion litres. Lagos certainly dwarfs even the second place with a huge margin. This is not surprising given the population density of Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital.

Niger state comes third with just 953.9 million litres consumed while Ogun and FCT comes fourth and fifth respectively with 885.7 million litres and 848.2 million litres respectively.
