Innoson dissociates self from alleged partnership deal with Zugacoin

Indigenous car manufacturing company, Innoson Motors Ltd has dissociated itself from the purported partnership deal it struck with recently launched cryptocurrency Zugacoin.

Recall that some days ago, the news had gone out that the auto maker had signed a partnership deal with Zugacoin that would see buyers making payment for its cars and other equipment with the coin.

However, the auto manufacturer dissociated itself from the claim that it had entered into a partnership deal that would see Zugacoin being used to make payment for car purchase from it as it warned Nigerians not to fall for such news reports.

The auto maker made this known via a Press statement it issued and made available on its Twitter handle.

According to the statement which was signed by the company’s Head of Communications, it said ”We did not sign any Partnership with any organization on the use of any form of cryptocurrency for the purchase of any product from Innoson Group.”

With this disclaimer, it is not yet clear what really went wrong or at what point the mis-communication happened. Could it be that sensing the backlash from Nigeria’s Central Bank of Nigeria with the news going viral it decided to back track or was the mis-information from the Archbishop’s team?

We do not know yet but this will probably come to light in the days to come.
